Department Overview:

The team is concerned with the development, support and release of solutions providing discreet functionality, driven by the global FX business.

The FX business has over 100 traders in 5 centres, and is headquartered in London. Its management is

committed to raising its level to a position within the top 5 FX banks through investment in the business and technology, and has recently authorised a new investment programme for the front office IT platform. The strategy revolves around the iterative development of all areas of the FX platforms, from client distribution, price generation to algorithmic trading.

Platform Description
Blackbird is a pricing platform for FX spot, forward, NDF and swap pricing with high currency coverage, high availability and low latency. It provides core FX prices based on a mixture of market and quant data feeds, as well as supporting metadata, to downstream systems for internal and external use.

Role involves working closely with the research (quant) team, trader tools (GUI) team and front office as part of an expanding team to:
• Maintain and enhance the server side of the Blackbird platform
• Work on extending the platform to support more products, concurrent price streams and higher tick rates
• Be part of the whole development lifecycle including analysis, architecture/design, development, testing and 2nd level support

• Strong C++ development skills
• Willingness to work in other languages (mainly C#) as needed
• Experience with low-latency, high-availability asynchronous systems
• Flexible approach to dealing with challenges
• Motivated to work directly with traders and research
• Strong communication and design skills
• Proven ability to deliver front office systems
• Experience in C#, Java and Python
• Experience of the FX business
• Experience of messaging-based data distribution, particularly TIBCO
